Aristotle the great Greek Philosopher once said, ”Those who educate children well are more to be honoured than they who produce them, for these only gave them life, those the art of living well . ” He also exhorted, “Educating the mind without educating the heart is no Education at all. ” These two quotes of the wise man come to my mind as I write this message for the web page of St. Paul’s Academy, Garhwa, an English medium School run by Diocese of Daltonganj. The Catholic Church has been in the forefront of education in the world and missionaries can be truly credited with bringing modern education to our beloved country. Our Educational Institutions in India have produced great minds but even greater hearts as Prime Ministers, Presidents, Chief Ministers and umpteen number of political and civil leaders, bureaucrats, social workers and nation builders have been prominent in giving shape to our beloved country’s policies and governance with promote the integral development of each human being.

St Paul’s Academy was founded with the noble aim of bringing quality education to an area which unfortunately has been lacking in many amenities. The aim of the school is to educate the heart as much as the mind so that children who pass through its portals become principled citizen of the country and who will be torchbearers of peace, harmony and justice. It is my ardent desire that the Principal, Manager, Teachers and all involved in the running of the school may dedicate themselves selflessly to the all round development of our children and may they really feel honoured for contributing so much to our families, our society and our country.
